Goals and objectives

The Geelix Campus is the campus for the School of Serious Games and Youth Programs:

  • School/office space; 100+ people.
  • Auxiliary buildings; including laboratories, convention centre, guest houses and accomodations, church, restaurant and reception.
  • High bandwidth Internet access, with LAN and WiFi.
  • Open and motivating landscape and architecture.

A goal is to invite more graduate, doctoral, and undergraduate students and professors to participate in computer science, video games, arts and design, related educational and research programs. We currently have agreements in place with leading universities, including UC Berkeley and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The educational and research programs are and will be focusing on serious games and online entertainment. A further goal is to invite aspiring kids for making new serious game concepts; usability studies, user experience studies, game development; computer science related education; and Christian ethics/values education and motivation.

Landscape and architecture

Figure 1. Landscape models for the Geelix Campus.

The figure shows the currently proposed landscape models for the Geelix Campus. The plan is for a clean and open landscape, with simplistically integrated green areas into a dry/sand landscape. All buildings will be relatively small, colorful, and mainly of brick construction.
